unfertalized queen honey bee egg sexual or not?I have just finished reading about meiosis and some of the problems at the end of the chapter stump me. These are the questions...
Decide whether each of the following is an example of sexual or asexual reproduction, and state why. 1.A diploid queen honeybee produces haploid eggs by meiosis. Some of these eggs are never fertalized and develop into haploid male honeybees. (drones). 2.Seeds develop after a flower has been pollinated with pollen from the same plant. 3. After it has been placed in water, a cutting from a plant develops roots. After it is transplanted to soil, the plant survives and grows. Help on any of these questions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
