Help with bacteria identification!I have a project to finish and i have been trying to research which bacteria it is...
These are my test results EMB- colony has a purple color, no sheen TSI- yellow/yellow so it ferments glucose and lactose and/or sucrose Urease- negative MIO- M- pos I - neg O - neg I tried to eliminate it down to klebsiella pneumoniae but the only thing wrong is the positive urease...could this just be a delayed reaction or does anyone have any ideas of what this could be?
It's definitely NOT Klebsiella because it's motile. If I understand your results correctly, your bacteria is:
Lactose/sucrose +ve (EMB, TSA) H2S -ve (no black in TSA) Motility +ve Indole -ve Ornithine -ve Urease -ve Than your choices are among Citrobacter freundii, Hafnia avlei, Serratia rubideae... You either need a list of possibilities or you need to perform more tests.
