What causes Hypertension and hypotension? What are their effects on the body?

They mean high and low blood pressure respectively. High blood pressure puts strain on the heart and makes strokes more likely. low blood pressure slows the metabolism and makes rheumatism and arthritis more likely, and can cause damage to internal organs. Er, well that's more or less what I read in wikipedia anyway.
