gastric juice secretionhey all of u out there
y does the sight or smell of food initiate gastric juice secretion?
my text says its the work of the ANS{autonomous nervous system}
that is the sympathetic ns inhibits gastric juice secretion while the parasympathetic ns stimulates it so does the smell / sight of food affect the ANS and increase the gastric juice secretion btw, who's pavlov
A summary of Pavlov's experiment: Every time giving food to a dog, he ringed a bell. He contiued this for some time. And after some days, when he rings the bell, the dog come for the food, even if it is not hungry.
It matters not how strait the gate
How charged with punishment the scroll I am the Master of my fate I am the Captain of my soul.
pavlov observed that dogs would salivate at the sight of food, and he associated food with a bell by ringing it immediately after presenting food. thus the bell became a signal for food and the dogs would salivate even when just the bell was rung.
this is kinda like laugh tracks in some sitcoms. Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; ~Niebuhr
It's about the sinergetic work of organ systems....let's see, not only gastric juice, but your saliva also get secreted more after you smell, you see and you taste the food...need more explanations? Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.
