What is microRNA?

Provide one example from literature how microRNA regulates mRNA.

I think that Wikipedia might be able to help you. :)

Not understanding what I really want. I need an abstract PLUS the results of an experiment that illustrates a time when microRNA regulates mRNA. A simple link to a site with free journal access would have been a good reference. I don't want to pay for my example and I don't consider wikipedia a legitimate reference.

Too bad Wikipedia is not bad, and it is a good start to get an idea of what you might want. And interestingly enough, there is a long list of peer-reviewed papers cited in the wikipedia article.

You might want to actually work on your own research. Non of your question have been beyond a quick search in your favorite search engine followed by links to peer reviewed papers. Or you might want to use google scholar. In any case, you should not expect others to do your basic search work. And behaving like an arrogant and lazy piece of **** is not going to help you get answers. It might however annoy me enough to ban you. You have been warned.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner.

One, citing wikipedia for an upper level biology course has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. "You may want to use google scholar," like surely you don't actually receive a pay check for such sound advice.

Two, you act as if your threat of banning me from these forums actually has some sort of value. As far as I can tell from the highly intellectual responses of your moderators, I, a junior undergraduate who is actually "a lazy piece of ****" when it comes searching for things that aren't even in the text book, may know more about this than you.

Finally, you are probably a middle age thirty year old who never had the GRE score to actually get into a legitimate graduate school which landed you here.. ...a sex-deprived, frustrated, wanna-be-PhD, moderator for a biology forum.

First I do not suggest that you cite wikipedia, I suggest that you read the article and references therein. There are plenty of peer reviewed articles that would be helpful. So use wiki as a starting point and elaborate from there. Many articles in it, especially in science, are actually quite good and up to date.

As for your second point, I will remember you that that this forum have rules that are clearly visible on top of each sub-forum and that you are expected to have read. One that is frequently broken, o the point of massively irking moderators is when people register and ask a question expecting a detailed answer without bothering to do their homework first. You have sadly not been an exception to the rules, and on top of that are demanding answers quite arrogantly without proving that you are producing any amount of work by yourself.

As for my personal life, I will confirm that you have my age about right, and that is about the end of it. I will not elaborate more on my private life or my daytime activities, but your arrogance appears to be equal to your laziness. And since you do not mind being banned, so be it, your wish will be granted.
I would tell you that you can communicate by email with the administrators had you any problem with my decision, but you will certainly not need it. You are such a startlingly intelligent undergrad that you will find others in other places to do your work in your stead.

mxnick: you have asked plenty of fairly easy questions here without proving that you at least attempted to solve them.
Now you're arrogant and insulting moderator. You cannot expect this would lead to something else than ban at any forum or other web page.
