DNA question help

i am doing DNA fingerprinting assignment and i got stuck on this question

if a restriction is "denatured", and therefore does not work, how would you recognize this on the gel?

I assume you mean "restriction enzyme." :)

What do you think would happen if you run uncut DNA on a gel?

right restriction enzyme will not cut the DNA and there will be not unique bands appear on gel..
so no DNA finger prints...
