Help identifying unknown bacteriaHell everyone, I am trying to identify my unknown bacteria
Gram negative- I believe rod shaped strict aerobe-thioglycollate test, although the deep stab appeared to be fac. anaerobic I might have screwed up the deep stab slow urea hydrolysis, weak urease prod-urea agar citrate utilization-citrate test no glucose fermentation, degradation of peptone and alkaline end products with sucrose and lactose fermentation test-Phenol Red tests EMB test- gram negative SIM test- tryptophan broken down, indole positive, no sulfur reduction decarboxylation tests- decarboxylation- org has enzymes to break down lysine, arginine, and ornithine catalase test- catalase positive I was thinking my organisms could be pseudomonas aeroginosa, ANy advice would be greatly appreciated
Re: Help identifying unknown bacteriaNeed oxidase but maybe not if indole +. Any pigmentation, odor?
strict aerobe by thioglyoclate test, negative carb fermentation, positive citrate, negative indole, positive urease, catalase positive, gram negative rod, positive decarboxylation tests......I think I have Alcaligenes faecalis or pseudomonas aerugenosa. Motility was positive from the deep stab. I think my test results match those organism except for the positive urease test
Re: Help identifying unknown bacteriaCan;t say much for your prof in designing this lame id study that ignores the standard flow of ID that takes you through the more consistent and basic considerations.
