HELP! Cannot decide which Gram+, rod-shaped organism this isI've boiled it down to it either being Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus subtilis, Clostridium sporogenes, Corynebacterium pseudodiptherium, or Lactobacillus acidophilus.
My organism is motile, acid litmus milk, tested postive for Methyl Red, Voges-Proskauer, Citrate, Catalse tests, and tested negative for Oxidase, Urease, H2S production and sucrose and mannitol tests. For the test of fermentation glucose, my organism was acid, and gas was produced... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me! Thanks!
Re: HELP! Cannot decide which Gram+, rod-shaped organism this isThink you'd better try that Gram stain again. Among the species you offered is an anaerobic bacterium, one that grows poorly if at all on media neutral in pH, more than one that's nonmotile and a number that produce obvious spores.
Re: HELP! Cannot decide which Gram+, rod-shaped organism this isWhat IS the Gram reaction? Maybe your prof forget to tell the isolate what it's supposed to be.
