Identify this Insect/Larvae?

This insect/larvae has been in the swamp behind my house for the past few years, it comes around easter, then a few weeks later disappears until the next year. I've done some research and have no idea what it is.. Any help?

You're welcome. A clincher would be if it swims upside down.
