Red Hair GeneHello. I am searching for an answer to a question I have, and I wasn't sure where to put it, so here it is.
I have 5 biological full siblings (from what I have been told). I have brown hair, my oldest sister has brown hair, and both of my younger sisters have blond hair (that seems to be turning brown). I also have 2 brothers who have red hair -- very red hair. My mother is a red head, and my father has brown/black hair. My grandparents on my mother's side have blond hair, and brown hair, and my grandparents on my father's side have the same. I do not know the hair colors further, but I can find out if needed. My husband says my father can't carry a red hair gene, and you need a gene from both the mother and father to produce a child with red hair, is this true? Can anyone explain it further? Are my brothers actually half-siblings? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
