What is the colony morphology for Strep pneumoniaeHow do the colonies appear on media, for example specifically, on blood agar and Phenylethyl alcohol (PEA)?
I understand that it's alpha hemolytic on blood agar and shows greenish color around the colonies. But what I don't get and would like to make sure is how do the colonies look like on it?? For example, should the colonies be tiny, circular, convex, irregular, what color if any....?? -colony morphology for PEA= tiny,pinpoint,circular/convex, irregular, and smooth colonies on the PEA. I've already done the gram stain and got a gram positive stain. I get that but I just want to make sure how I can write the morphology of the colonies and how they should look, in case I am wrong with this.
