Pseudomonas question

Postby Layd33foxx » Thu Mar 01, 2012 12:42 am

The protein encoded by one of the mer genes binds Hg2 in the periplasm and brings it into the cell. Why would a cell bring in a toxin?

Is it because it helps them?

Why is the wrong question. The cells doesn;t do anytging with a purpose - it does it because it has evolved to that function.
