Does Pseudomonas form Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)?The reason I ask is because all the tubes and agar plates (or media) I'm using in lab all turned black so I'm assuming my organism produces Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)...BUT what I'm confused about is how that could be possible for a Pseudomonas since all other tests I've done match up with Pseudomonas and not the other organisms (like Proteus for example) that make H2S??
So is it possible for Pseudomonas to make H2S and if so which kind (example- Pseudomonas aerigonosa or mallei or etc)...or did I just do all my lab tests wrong? thanks My test results by the way (that seem to match with Pseudomonas) are: Lactose - Glucose - (so since it doesn't ferment glucose, this why I ruled out Proteus) I did also a Urease (urea) test by the way to make sure if it's Proteus but it also came out negative so that seems out of the question. so it seems my organism is a Pseudomonas but I dont know which kind actually produces H2S.? that's what's confusing me....
Re:
hey am sorry im new here and wasn't sure how i could edit my old posts. I looked for the option but there was no "edit" button or anythng I could find to do this. am sitll unsure how to add updates like u mentioend. It seems a bit harder here with posts than I have had with other sites like YA for example How would I do that what you mentioned? could u plz tell me. sorry again about that, I am unsure and am still learning how to use this site x
You have a 10 minutes edit window to change you post, after that you have to beg one of the all powerful mods to be kind enough to do it. It is because spammers and some debaters have abused the function to change their posts after they have been validated (either to add spam, or to modify their argument when it was later proved false).
If you have an update, just post a reply in the same thread and give your audience the added information. Patrick
