Blob with cilia around it?Moderator: BioTeam

Blob with cilia around it?I took some algae into my micro lab to look under the microscope, and I came across this _at_ 1000x oil immersion. It didn't seem to have any distinct form to it, and it was surrounded in cilia. Wasn't motile at all as far as I could tell. Any ideas what it might be? I thought maybe I smashed something, but it didn't have any distinguishable parts to it besides the cilia as far as I could tell. Any help would be appreciated.
Note: If you can't tell where the cilia are, try putting it on HD, but they are pretty much around the circumference of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqb0YHTk_1Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQlZVdEfKO4
