Brewer's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)

I am currently doing a project on landfill biocover.
I'll be mixing grass compost and brewer's yeast (spent yeast) together and apply them to landfill to see whether they have the ability to oxidize landfill methane into carbon dioxide as methane is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Hopefully this will help to reduce the greenhouse effect/global warming.
I obtained my spent yeast from Carlsberg Malaysia in the pressed/caked form.
The texture is something like plasticine (modelling clay) and it's quite hard for me to mix it with my compost.
May I know what are the methods that I can use to dry them without affecting their properties?
