Question about Kirby-Bauer methodHi, I'm trying to do the Kirby-Bauer method by testing the effect of certain foods' ability to inhibit pathogen growth.
I was wondering if it's possible to do this method by just streaking the agar plates with pathogens like E.Coli straight from the tube (from the catalogue) or is it a must to use only pathogens after it has been grown in broth?? My plan was to just streak like E. Coli with an inoculating loop in a zig-zag pattern every 90 degrees, pretty much covering the whole plate. And then I would place my paper disks on top of the agar... Thanks for replies.
