Need help with my course work.Hello,
I'm doing my course work for AS2 and I'm seriously out of ideas. the question is which type of suggar (glucose, fructose, maltose, sucrose) is best able to support the growth of a yeast culture. The result show that the best is glucose followed by maltose, then fructose and at the end succrose. I know that glucose is the easiest molecule to hydrolis and therefore gives ATP the quickest. I can't understand why maltose (di-saccharide of a-glucose) is before fructose. Could you give me some help... Many thx.
