I have a gram + coccus
motility is negative
MSA is + for growth but -for fermenting manitol
KoH Negative
Catalase Positive
oxidase negative
Blood agar: no change in the agar; gamma

Any ideas what it could be??

Is it a facultative anaerobe? Is it a putative clinical isolate? Catalse rules out strep., oxidase rules out micrococcus, so what group(s) would that leave?

As a lab exercise, probably so. How would your data allow narrowing the potential Staphylococcus spp.?
