Question on Xylem and Phloem; primary and secondary

Hi,
I'm a homeschooled student and am essentially teaching myself AP Biology... this may not be wise but that is what I'm doing and it is too late to change now. I would love some help/clarification. Some of the study things I use don't have answer keys and that is mostly fine but occasionally I'm not sure if my answer is adequate... so if you don't mind giving me a hand that would be fantastic. Please note that this isn't homework. I am not turning it in to a teacher and it is not getting graded. It is purely for my own benefit...
Anyway.
Here is my question. "What is the difference in the formation of primary xylem and phloem versus secondary xylem and phloem?" What I put/am thinking, is that primary x&p is formed by primary growth and an apical meristem whereas secondary x&p is formed by the vascular cambium in secondary growth. Would you consider that an accurate/adequate answer? If not what am I missing?
