I'm writing a paper on importance of online forums (networks) in developing biological researches.
Do you think that the many online forums dedicated on biology (especially on Entomology I see) can be regarded as Bioinformatics?

Do you know of some reference treating this topic?

No. Bioinformatics is the usage of technology to generate novel conclusions about biology. Forums provide assistance to questions using already known informations.
