Which stain is frequently used to identify Mycobacterium?

Which stain is frequently used to identify Mycobacterium? Why is that? Is it to do with the high amounts of lipids contained in the cell wall?

Mycobacterium is acid-fast because of the high concentration of mycolic acids (fatty acids) in the cell wall. They will appear to be red.
