Ouabain and Na/K ATPase inhibitionI have this question to answer for my cell bio class:
"During the transport process, the Na/K ATPase becomes transiently phosphorylated. What do you think this suggests about a likely mechanism for ouabain inhibition of this pump? How might this reaction be reversed, both endogenously and experimentally?" So.. we know that ouabain inhibits the binding of phosphate.. by inhibiting a kinase. But how would this be reversed endogenously and experimentally? Thanks! Nikki
