Can Husband and Wife's same Blood Group result in Child
Birth Defects

Or

Are there any chances of they will not be able to bear
child ?

For examples : Both having same blood group (+ve or - ve)

Example 1.

Husband -> Blood Group A +ve

Wife -> Blood Group A +ve

Other example,

Example 2.

Husband -> Blood Group B -ve

Wife -> Blood Group B -ve

So in this case, are there any chances of Child Birth
Defects ?

OR

They will not be able to have a child i.e leading to
infertility condition ?

i.e Examples :

Husband : A +ve
Wife : A -ve

Wife : B -ve

An incompatibility arises when an Rh negative woman has a partner who is Rh positive, resulting in an Rh positive baby. If the mother’s and baby’s blood come into contact during childbirth, her body produces antibodies against the baby’s blood. The present baby is not affected, but a subsequent pregnancy may be at risk.

Therefore the same blood group is a good thing, but at the same time it is not necessary;

Women in this situation are given injections of anti-D, which coats the baby’s Rh positive cells and protects against the manufacture of antibodies.

In old times because anti-D Injections / Medications were not available, could have resulted in miscarriages, disabled children but now because of the advancement in medicines fields viz anti-D injections availability, this problem is resolved.
