Molecular markers for what?

Because I guess if you are talking about bacteria or human there is more than a few differences...

there are many molecular markers. for example in humans SRY gene is molecular marker for male humans and its absense is a molecular marker for femal human. So it is important that your question should be more specific for what are you looking for.
