Novel Proteins

I have this question for my biology for majors class and I have no idea how to answer it. Can anyone help me?

You have recently identified a novel protein. After obtaining the protein sequence you realize that this protein contains several motifs and domains. How might this information help you determine the function of your new protein?

well, the motifs/domains are involved in binding specific molecule/cofactor or performing some kind of reaction

lets say on the left it has a handle, and on the right it has flat metal plate. Investigate what handles are used for, then flat metal plates. Sit back and let the mind blend the two. I recommend over a nice Cabernet Sauvignon.
