Confusion about Missense MutationTextbook says that it may or may not alter the Amino acid sequence of a protein, while the definition on this site is "A form of point mutation resulting in a codon that codes for a different amino acid, and thus, causes the synthesis of a protein with an altered amino acid sequence during translation."
Help please
missense mutation IMHO means, that the sense of sequenced is changed, thus it should be the second definition.
The first one is probably about point mutations in general. http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
Cis or trans? That's what matters.
