Prokaryotes and EukaryotesHey, I'm doing some work for my first year of university. I've been asked to explain all the differences between these two cell types. I've already mentioned the main differences, but i'd like your input to make sure I cover everything.
Thanks ”It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

All righty.
Prokaryotes: -DNA stored in nucleoid -No membrane-bound organelles -Smaller ribosomes -Higher growth and metabolic rate -Less life time per generation Eucariotes: - Nuclei present, DNA stored in chromosomes -Membrane-bound organelles present -Bigger in size I guess this would be enough but it wouldn't hurt to have some extra data. Thanks ”It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

I can't find anything on cellular defence for prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Could you give a link or something? I can't find anything that specific.

P:
-cell division: asexual reproduction, usually by binary fission -plasmalemma: rigid, very selective -nucleoid is a circular chromosome (DNA) without nuclear envelope -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prokaryote E: -cell division: indirect: mitosis and meiosis -plasmalemma:flexible, high permeability -true nucleus with envelope -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eukaryote
