type of mutationhi,
I'm confuse with certain informations that I read recently regarding genetic mutation and these are my questions: 1)how many types of mutations are there? point and length? 2) what is molecular drive? 3) how many ways are there to disseminate mutation? by the way, is there any website that I could find informations regarding this. please help.. thanks
3 types in some books: point(genic) mutations, chromosome mutations and genomic mutations. Some authors rooll them under chromosome mutations

UAGLOL...
Thanks alot for the information Have been doing lots of reading these few days regarding mutation, got a better picture now. There are actually 2 types of mutation (according to the book) ; point and length.... thanks for the information... well, got to UAG here...
Hi,
First of all, Mutations can be classifed as either GENE MUTATIONS or CHROMOSOME MUTATIONS according to the size of alteration. Gene mutations can be divided as: 1-) Lethal Mutations 2-)Conditional Mutations 3-)Biochemical Mutations 4-)Resistance Mutations When we look at the molecular basis of mutation, Spontaneous Point Mutation, Point (single-site) mutations in DNA can occur through two possible way, 1-) The substitution of one base pair for another a-)Silent Mutation b-)Missense mutation c-)Non sense mutation 2-)The addition or deletion of a nucleotide pair
