Some assistance identifying a "weed" in my garden...Hello everyone, while I am a new addition, I am having problems pinpointing this plant and was hoping one of you botanists could easily pick it out. Here's an imgshack thumb:
![]() I've tried reading about this in my new Northwest Foraging book, but one gets lost in a variety of leaf descriptions and it just doesn't seem to have anything identical. You'll note that they don't grow from the ground like arugula, though it looks similar, it grows from long stalks about a 1/2 inch thick, and the color is a deep, Russian kale green. I just can't quite match it. I thought it was wintercress at first and (perhaps stupidly) ate a few leaves. They were delicious! I'm tempted to go through the garden and harvest these, but I was curious as to what exactly I might be poisoning myself with first. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the spring!
