Is there a simple way to remember the equation for working out the magnification of a microscope from the scale, and for remembering the difference in size between cm and μm.

(Please dont shout at me if this is in the wrong section, I wasnt 100% sure about it. )

you mean like have picture where 2 cm mean 1 um, so what's the magnification?

well, that depends on how big you print the picture ;) But simply just divide (e.g. 2 cm/1 um = 20 000 um/1 um)
