Debate about Mitosis

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this site.

Now, in Campbell I read that Metaphase is the longest phase of mitosis lasting about 20 mins.
But, some other sources say that Prophase is the longest phase.
And yet some other sources say that metaphase is actually the shortest phase!

I don't get this. Please explain. =)

the length of particular stages differ quite a lot and some may be even missing ;)

hm, but yu're talking only about mitosis, not the full cell cycle... but I guess it will differ as well ;)
