Hormone response failure

Dear all. I am looking to find the answer of the question below. Can anyone please help?
"You have just applied hormone X to your plant but do not see a response. List various reasons for the lack of response. Identify the hormone"

those reasons can be tens.
- the hormone is immediately degraded (if you applied isopentenyladenine, it will be immediately degraded by cytokinin dehydrogenase/oxidase)
- the hormone is inactivated as e.g. by de/conjugation
- the hormone is not applied properly (e.g. application to roots in hydroponia)

Cunjugation, can decrease active hormon consentration
Oxidation/ decarboxylation, is the first step in degradation of the hormone
Compartmentation (in chloroplast), if the net movement of the hormone is into a compartment where it is not chemicaly active.
Transport, if the hormone is transported to other plant tisues.

But most comonly a failure of hormonal response is because of plant tisues not being sensitive to the aplied hormone. Example, if Ethylene is aplied to a fruit in the early stage of fruit development the cellmembrane will not have open Ethylene resepters and thus the fruit can't detect Ethylene.

This lack of open reseptors can be becuase of the tisue not haveing developed them or another substance is blocking the receptors for example smartfresh bloking ethylene sites.
