Please help identify this insect.

On a recent Caribbean cruise I noticed this stowaway on the deck one morning.We had just been in Dominica the day before.Unfortunately, I did not include a size reference,but I would guess it was 3-4cm in length.

Cannot say much more than that I'm quite certain it is a butterfly belonging to the Sphingidae family. The family includes many streamlined and large moths, such as the one in your picture. Might be a green hawkmoth of some sort.

A very beautiful animal, by the way :)
