GCSE Biology question on cells?

Kangaroos have 12 chromosomes in each skin cell.
1)How many chromosomes are in a sperm cell from a kangaroo?
2)How many chromosomes are in a kidney cell from a kangaroo?

Please give answers and also explain the scientific reasoning behind your answers.
