From DNA to Cell to the human body?Am I right in thinking that the human cell, getting instructions from the DNA can divide and group itself accordingly to form structural and functional units to make your muscles, blood, bones, teeth, eyes, brain, hairs, nerve cells, hormones, and so on? So, in other words, the cell is the basic building block and can sort of morph itself into different kinds of protein in order to build the human body?
Another question, are proteins the only molecules that make the entire parts of the body? I'm sort of new in Biology, so make me understand this clearly. Thank you!!
to your first question, I would say yes, thats why we have the term differentiation, as for how it happen, I should give it up to all Biologist here to answer, cos they know more in detail

To David's second question:
Proteins are the major building blocks of most structures, but they are next to useless alone. For example, every cell requires a lipid (fat) membrane in order to work. Also, certain minerals are essential (e.g. calcium for bones), and even carbohydrates form some structures, although their role in animals is very small when compared to plants. For the human body proteins, lipids and minerals are the most important structural building blocks/substances, and of course a lot of water is required to "fill up" all this.
