A plant that has wilted is watered and the turgidity of the plant returns to normal. its noticed that turgidity returns to the plant from the top leaves and stems first down to the lower ones second. is this due to lower water potential at the top of the plant compared to the lower parts or is there some other mechanism that takes water to the top plant of the plant first?
