Names of cellular respiration? How do the terms electron transport chain, chemiosmosis, and oxidative phosphorylation relate to one another?
From my understanding, the ETC is the path the electrons go down, chemiosmosis is the process in which ATP synthase makes ATP from the H+ concentration gradient, and oxidative phosphorylation is the name of the entire thing including the previous two. Is that right?
I would say that oxidative phosphorylation is the process of formation of ATP, while chemiosmosis explains, how is the energy of electrons saved in the way of ATP by ETC and subsequent osmosis of protons with formation of ATP
