Fine detail around the digestion and airway channel

What is an anatomy around that area? If stomach came up and esphogus lining was tough could it not go into the upper airways which are sensitve.

If you actually read your textbook or looked online, you would discover the Cardiac Sphincter, but clearly you haven't.

I'm not a student. I'm a sick adult and I couldn't find that- link appreciated. I only found general anatomy for the digestion system separate from the cardiopulmonary system.

That only cover the link to stomach- What if that is working improperly then there are other less effect barriers to the lungs. You sound like typical doctor- medicine is only a good guess on how the body works.

I made my initial post by thinking that you were another one of the many annoying kids that come here for answers without even making an effort to look for themselves. I'm sorry I address it that way and hope you understand the frustration. With that aside, I would like to tell you that medicine is not a guessing game! Until you have actually gone through medicine and have been practicing, you can't say that.

As for your stomach-esophagus issue, the only closely related thing that can happen is heartburn, where the contents from the stomach, mainly the acid, reach and irritate the lower esophagus. In case, you think that throwing up will allow food to go through the airway while it goes up the esophagus, it won't. That is because when you throw up, your brain sends out a complete systematic approach, of which consists of the epiglottis closing the airway until reverse peristalsis (reverse movement) of the esophagus is completed.

As for its anatomy, both, stomach and esophagus, are fully muscular and its inner walls are lined with very thick mucus to protect nearby cells from the stomach's acid (pepsin, pH of 2 <--- that's VERY acidic).
