Why is conjugation considered sexual?
Yeah, you need help. That does not mean that I will spoon-feed you the answer. What you figure out by yourself will be understood for the rest of your life, not likely if I just give you a perfectly crafted answer that you do not understand.
So to go back to the problem at hand: No, at heart sex is not necessary for reproduction. Bacteria do not have sex, nor social insects in many cases and many other species. Yet they reproduce. So what happens during sex that makes it special from a reproductive point of view? Patrick
