Also as to the comment about the kiwi, have you read up on how the humans hunted kiwis, and introduced stoats into their habitat to hunt them.

Well, that was my point exactly. Since natural selection and evolution do not have any capability of foresight, they can come up with designs that are very poor if the environment changes even a bit - for example when humans arrive. These kind of changes can happen completely naturally: a tropical storm floats a couple of dozen monitor lizard eggs to Australia and they eat all the kiwis or something like that.

Maybe I can put the lack of intelligence in the "design" of life in another way: why would the great designer make a gazillion handicapped, retarder or otherwise unfit individuals into each species? Just because he wants them to be eaten? He makes fit individuals that can proudly graze the plains and avoid all predators and then he makes bad-legged, corss-eyed ones that are there just to be eaten by fit and handsome predators. And again, there are predators that have malformations and mutations and cannot hunt properly. They die of hunger and why? Because the Intelligent Designer decided it'd be fun to make animals that cannot hunt, but who can starve..?

From the above example you should see that the idea of an intelligent designer is inherently absurd, unless of course the designer is a wicked and nasty being who likes to see weak animals being eaten and weak predators to starve to death.

Another random example: could you point me what is the "intelligence" behind creating runts? If you don't know, a runt is the weakest and smallest one in a litter of animal babies. The one who cannot compete for food with its siblings, the one who usually suffers from hunger and then dies. Why did the designer design runts? Does he want to look at small animal babies suffer?

Natural selection and evolution can easily explain fit and unfit prey and predators, bad legs, crossed eyes and even runts. But the malevolent creator who gave us all our heritable diseases, lethal mutations and non-lethal but terribly debilitating medical conditions etc. seems, luckily, very imaginary. If there was a creator that is so nasty that he causes all this I'd be really scared of him!

I don't want to debate what you have said, although it has been interesting reading about all the opinions on this controversial topic. I just want to clarify one thing that you have said. If a dozen monitor lizard eggs floated to Australia they would have no affect on the kiwis. Kiwis are native to New Zealand. A country that although close to Australia is definitely a seperate country.

Heh, thanks for the clarification. I am well aware that New Zealand is a separate country and that kiwis live there (it is the national symbol of the country as well?). But I totally forgot that they do not live in Australia - I was under the impression that they lived in both countries. I stand corrected :)

remember that the evolution are random so the evolution is not itself.but one thing is that the if evolution is towards on anything then anything evolves that helps to lessen the pressure.
