DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTERWhen you cross a bar eyed female drosophila with a wild male drosophila, what is the mode of inheritance?
I know that it is incomplete dominance. When the first generation is bred, all bar eyed drosophilas were males and all drosophilas with medium sized eyes were females. How do I explain this? If I want to breed two generations, what is the genotype of the bar eyed female and wild male given that B=Bar and b=Wild? Last edited by canalon on Mon Nov 01, 2010 10:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Reason: No need for big shouty letters, your post will be read the same...
Re: DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTERParental: Female: B/B X(cross) male: b/Y
F1: Female:B/b X male: B/Y F2: Female: B/B or B/B male: B/Y or b/Y Female: (1)B/B:Bar eyed. (2)B/b:medium size. (3)b/b:wild-type Male: (1)B/Y: Bar eyed. (2)b/Y: wild-type. One copy of Bar mutation would reduced the eye size changing the eye shape from oval to kidney.
