How can adaptations for manipulation within a lineage exist?

Nature is not harmonious. Males manipulate females to mate with them, and some possess traits that allow them to force their sperm into the female, or rake out the sperm already inside the female. The same stands for the opposite - females can decide which male's sperm they actually use, digesting or discarding sperm from a male they decide will provide substandard offspring. Now I can see how adaptations against the opposite gender propagate, as despite the fact they spend roughly 50% of the time in the opposite sex, they can be switched on for males and switched off for females and vice versa. That I understand.

It still works for male/male competition within a species, where the male who has a better sexual adaptation is more likely to mate and propagate his adaptations, and with parents and children, where children who learn best to manipulate the parents are most likely to grow into parents, while parents who are best at manipulating their children are most likely to have more children.

This is where I completely fall apart - eusocial insects. How can members of, say, an ant nest have conflicting adaptations against each other - how can this work, propagate, and lead to a stable community? I am truly confused.

Some male insects (Damselflies) have 'penis scoops' to remove all the sperm from a previously inseminated female.
Some types of Drosophila inject the female with an anti-aphrodisiac to prevent her from mating after he fertilises her.

These are genes in a male that, while being silenced if the genome of the offspring of the male is female, will be passed on to the genome of his male youth. Therefore within a lineage, males and females can have adaptations against each other!

And if women choose world champions in swimming for partners, men won't become fish, but their offspring will certainly tend to be better swimmers!
