Dearest Volunteers and Doctors:

Hello and welcome to the State/National Lab Project for Fiber Disease Syndrome!

This is our first short monthly newsletter. This month we are concentrating on getting a doctor from each state to agree to take FDS patients.

Please volunteers, call as many doctors as you can from your state, not as a patient but as an activist. Ask these physicians if they are willing to take patients that have a yet undiscovered, undiagnosed autoimmune disease syndrome.

Tell the doctor that one of our doctors will call them and explain what research is being done, what has been found out and what protocols work thus far.

I have a file for each state and it will be compiled of those volunteers in that state that are helping with this project and the names of the doctors you have asked us to call. When you get a “bite” from a doctor willing to be opened minded, call me and give me their name, specialty and address. I will keep you informed of our progress each month.

If you are seeing a doctor that will take patients please let me know immediately. I require that you report back your progress once a week in a short e-mail addressed to CISFL2004_at_netzero.com
If you have done nothing for that week due to a busy schedule, please report that back to me too. Place in the Subject Line the Name of your State / Your last name so I can bring up the file and chart your progress. I have a folder for each state and will keep everyone informed about the positive progress of all involved. Please also include your phone number in the body of the letter along with your e-mail address.

When you have a caring doctor willing to talk to one of the main staff, we will get someone to call them. and explain the disease and the program. We will place the doctor in their state file or on http://netmedvisit.com whichever they prefer, so patients can find them.

Our goal is to get a computer, microscope, digital camera, nurse volunteer and digital voice recorder in each office so everything is captured on an electronic file. The next NEWSLETTER I will explain exactly how the program will be run and will include our Mission Statement.

I did not even have a hlink in my pm and it was only to ask your opinion on what you had previously written to me about....the color prisms in my water....shampoo, etc., that is all.

Deena, just saw your redemtion post and think that is great for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers....good luck....
but I have to ask and add....this sounds like some of you know that this illness was created to hurt drug addicts....like I said....if that is so then they are worse criminals then the addicts themselves....lock them up, raid their homep-whatever....but don;t try to make a phucking GD chimera out of them! Jeez......
also fyi Deena......i posted about a month ago exactly when Nadas was still around an article that said what this thing reacts to. Hell, it even had acetomenaphin listed as well as cigs......

Synthetic Biology

Cloning of DNA fragments, production of special proteins in vitro, and modification of a single cell’s or an organism’s features have been practised in biological research for many years. Now a new direction heading beyond seems to be evolving, the so-called field of synthetic biology. This field seems to be so promising that the Nature journal dedicates an entire issue to it. So what is synthetic biology?

It is a kind of bottom-up engineering, where circuits are developed that could allow the creation of biological components and ultimately even of entire, replicating organisms. The method aims to merge biology with engineering approaches. For these purpose, a student’s competition took place at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge at the beginning of November. The participating teams were asked to try to copy simple biological processes. Synthetic biologists try in this way to establish a kind of an armoury of biological components form which one can order - comparable to electronic components - standardised biological bricks which can than be integrated into a genetic circuit where they assume certain functions.

An especially felicitous project was the development of a bacterial photography system. The students from the University in Austin, Texas, engineered a film of bacteria in a way that they reacted to light and changed their colour correspondingly, so that a photography is created. For this purpose, they fused a protein in the membrane of bacteria which normally do not have light receptors to a photoreceptor from another, light-sensitive, bacterial strain. The membrane protein of the bacteria which they had chosen directly regulates the expression of a reporter-gene which leads to a dark colouring of the bacteria. Light inhibits gene expression in the chimeric bacteria, so that the researchers had only to grow a lawn of the bacteria on a support to get a high-contrast picture of the chosen image on this biological film. Light parts appeared light and dark regions were dark, and even a graded colouring was observed corresponding to the different light intensities. This system can be used to temporally and spatially regulate gene expression as well in single cells as in entire populations.

Going beyond this applications, synthetic biology allows a better understanding of natural circuits by rebuilding them in a simplified version and watching their mode of function in vivo and comparing it to the natural counterpart. Thus, one can shed light on how structure and function of genetic circuits depend on each other and which components were important for their formation in the course of evolution.

I have another question for you. Do you own or take part in any commercial operations related to the Morgellons disease? If so, please allow me to state that I believe that there is no reason to automaticaly assume conflict of intrest on your part that may affect our discussions. I would like to compile as much data as possible regarding this matter so as to reach a valid conclusion.
