The Fiber DiseaseModerator: BioTeam I told you all the other night I read lots of documents (by the Gov't) on GM foods and how bad they were- even one telling them how stupid (in a round about way0 and we will have no idea what they mean =when they say this and that about GMproducts.....
It went on to even say what techniques the Companies should use!! So you like Man Wae Ho, eh Lynne? Here's another of his for you: Since the dawn of genetic engineering in the 1970s, geneticists have found that the cDNA of many RNA viruses inserted into bacterial plasmids, were able to complete their life-cycles in bacteria. In fact, RNA genomes produced in the test-tube can also successfully transfect bacterial cells and complete their life-cycles [2]. Bacteria in the environment therefore provide a convenient reservoir for storing, multiplying and recombining viral genes to create new viruses http://www.i-sis.org.uk/supervirus.php and lynne, here's a real good one....: http://www.saynotogmos.org/scientists_s ... m#_mae_wan
ya, I like chinese people
they tend to be exceptionly smart. (that I have known anyway) But the guys are usualy shorter than me. Do you think we could get him to take a look at this disease? we sure could use him. Alas he is probably way to busy. I "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. and I quote:
Despite these concerns, participants felt quite confident in information that would be provided by scientists, especially university scientists and professors. This was even more the case if these professors were not specifically involved in the development of new food technologies. There was a strong level of trust in regulatory bodies, although, almost unanimously, most respondents did not initially believe that genetically modified foods could be sitting on grocery shelves without them having been informed of such. Trust in Health Canada was generally high. Participants concluded that if products were in the marketplace, they must have been adequately tested for safety. There was a grave mistrust in the biotechnology industry, in manufacturers of biotech foods and in scientists working in the biotechnology field and the government more generally. The fact that genetically modified foods were not labeled further strengthened mistrust in these bodies as they felt it was a consumer’s right to know. Some respondents expressed feelings of being controlled and unable to protect themselves from the risks imposed by these kinds of government decisions. Industry’s perceived control over government and their decisions deepened feelings of disempowerment among some participants. ______________________________ It's a 9MB document but it's a damn good one! i'm not anywherenear thru reading it yet. http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/publicat/gmf ... ings_e.pdf Last edited by London on Sun Apr 16, 2006 7:28 pm, edited 1 time in total.
London you are amazing what you find!!! The thing that pisses me off is if all this tech has been out there why do so many docs act surprised that we think its something new? R they THAT narrow minded??? "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. yep!!!
I'm afraid so! Hey, I went back and edited that quote post of mine. I put the hyperlink in it . ------------------------------------------ tHIS IS STRAIGHT FROM THE gOV'T MOUTH: This suggests that if policy makers should embark on a post-market surveillance of potential human late health effects of GM foods, they need to be specific about the potential problems they want to monitor and develop protocols to ensure rapid response to address any effects that emerge. This implies all policy-makers involved with ensuring population health should endeavour to collaborate in understanding, assessing and implementing policies and programs that support their mandate to enhance population health. ________________________ sEE HOW THEY LIE Last edited by London on Sun Apr 16, 2006 7:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I know we have been eating modified corn for a while,
and I have heard there even been able to put genes from a firefly in corn (something like that)?weird, like science fiction to me. The more I know the scarier it gets Ignorance is bliss Correction: WAS bliss "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Linn, Please forgive me for my lack of clarity. I do not nor did I percieve you as being dishonest. I did quote your statement "no the CDC says it's DOP with erruptions". If I took that out of context I apologize. I agree, outdated medical literature has the cards stacked against us and avoiding a DOP misdiagnosis is a continuing battle. Your personal experiences and those of many sufferers confirms that. We are making great strides in that area. Based on communications shared else where the CDC is aware and are not addressing this condition as if it is only DOP. I am also aware of past communications that may contridict what I just stated, but they as well as the medical literature are outdated. Now this is only my opinion based on what I have read and I am not at liberty to share them since they are not mine. Hearsay my own words may be, but I chose to share them anyway. The only enemy I see is the disease and how it is recieved, but we continue to join together and change the way we and it are percieved. Best to you Linn and everyone! Standby

Thanx, and you take care, and how about posting here more often? you are on lyme busters usualy? I can only say the CDC was very rude to me, and said point blank: Case Closed did you read my excerpt from an entomology volume on the DOP? its here somewhere. I am going to attempt to post on Lymebusters. I once did somehowas a guest, but the next time I could not? lynne and all,
Here's another lil snippet of how they lie (this is in tha article I hyperlinked up above: _________________________________ In addition, FDA and CDC conducted post-market evaluations of unsolicited consumer event reports related to possible allergic reactions to the protein in StarLink corn. These studies involved ELISA tests for specific antibodies to the protein, Cry9C, and interviews with patients. No patients were found to have antibodies to Cry9C. This limited study was not designed to monitor for allergic reactions to StarLink, but simply to assess whether consumers, who reported having allergic reactions that they believed might be related to StarLink, had specific IgE antibody to Cry9C. ___________________________________ and: Long-term exposure to low levels of a potentially toxic food or its component can result in a myriad of toxic effects including neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption or immunotoxicity, and lead to diseases such as cancer. Currently Canadian studies linking dietary practices, nutritional and toxicological indicators, and exposure to food contaminants and other factors to specific diseases and health outcomes is lacking. This is further complicated by wide genetic variability of the human population, and vulnerability of certain subpopulations. ____________________________ and did you see this????? This is true in cases where the GM food concerned forms a major and consistent part of the diet. • For example infants, whose main source of nutrition is infant formula, could be randomised to formulas based either on GM or non-GM soya and their health followed for a number of months • Outcome measures could include growth, well-being and frequency of gastro-intestinal and other symptoms. ________________________________ Bt-Corn : Risk can be Extreme Extirpation of beneficial species Disruption of community ecology New species (pest-resistance, weeds) Increased need for pesticide Increased need for herbicide Increased need for fertilizer Inability to control pests Last edited by London on Sun Apr 16, 2006 8:09 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I ran across a document the other day about the treatment of DOP with pimozide. Several patients actually. Don't get me wrong here, I would never consider taking this nor would I suggest anyone else take it. All it does is mask the symptoms and possiby just paralize the organism (and/or our bodies natural responce) in question. Back to the document. He indicated his success with pimozide but one of his closing statements was; "Although, when treatment is stopped symptoms return." What does that tell you?
