The Fiber DiseaseModerator: BioTeam A quick note about all postings from London:
- JC Venter has still to create the first artificial life form in vitro even if he claims he will do it tomorrow, they are still working on identifying the minimal genome set. -Please read the full link of what you post. Yes TIGR studied the genome of Leishmania major a parasit that causes terrible lesions on the arm and faces, yet I hardly see the point with the morgellon disease. -This forum is for scientific discussion, not for other things. If someone has problems with contact the mods or the admin and we will do our best to inquire in what really happens. Nevertheless if you don't want to look like a paranoid nutcase, I invoite you to either keep your suspicion for yourself OR make a stronger case than a random selection of half understood web pages picked with more or less discerning keywords... Science has proof without any certainty. Creationists have certainty without any proof. (Ashley Montague)
Autoimmune bullous disorders are a group of severe skin diseases characterized clinically by blisters and erosions of skin and/or mucous membranes. A hallmark of these disorders is the presence of IgG and occasionally IgA autoantibodies that target distinct adhesion structures of the epidermis, dermoepidermal basement membrane, and anchoring fibrils of the dermis. This Review focuses on the potential role of autoreactive T cells in the pathogenesis of these disorders. Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) and bullous pemphigoid (BP) are the best-characterized bullous disorders with regard to pathogenesis and T cell involvement. Activation of autoreactive T cells in PV and BP is restricted by distinct HLA class II alleles that are prevalent in individuals with these disorders. Autoreactive T cells are not only present in patients but can also be detected in healthy individuals. Recently, a subset of autoreactive T cells with remarkable regulatory function was identified in healthy individuals and to a much lesser extent in patients with PV, suggesting that the occurrence of autoimmune bullous disorders may be linked to a dysfunction of Tregs.

Ciliate did ask me once if I were a doctor or scientist. Did not reply because it was not any of her business or yours for that matter. Was told by a moderator, won't say his name but his initials are Canalon, that my credientials were not important here because anyone could be anybody on the internet. AND I am certainly not anybody's Basidiomycetes man but maybe a white angel to some. Doc44 Marchantia, take a trip and never leave the pasture. This thread reminds me of where they grow.
This thread should be declared a forum in and of itself.
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

Hey alex!!
Doc: you said before that you had this disease, i was just wondering how you recovered or do you still have problems? Do you think its due do immune system dysfunction? or does it end up damaging the immune system? so cause or effect? . Reason I wonder is because I have found some people who were perfectly~if not_ exceptionaly healthy when this suddenly happened to them usualy after an insect bite. PS you can be an angel to me, I need a good doctor. spelled~Lynne "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these".

Hi Doc 44,
I did ask you once if you were a scientist, but I never enquired if you are a medical doctor. I would not ask the latter of a person on the internet, for the very sensible reason that you gave. Canalon is quite right, in that the qualifications and registration or license status of any such claimant would have to be checked, as would the actual identity of the poster. I think you are being a little brusque in saying that you did not reply to my query about whether you are perhaps a scientist, 'because it is none of my business'. I was not asking anything offensive, surely, given that this is a scientific forum, where scientists would be likely to contribute. I furthermore was not asking out of any selfish motives. You could have asked why I wished to know. Oh, I am only trying to help people whose eyes are affected, and I wished to enquire about a particular treatment that can in fact be purchased over the counter. I am not asking you to prescribe or endorse anything over the internet, I only wanted a scientific answer to a straight question, about a therapeutic substance, given that it now has a new name. This topic was being discussed on Lymebusters, and a poor girl was going out of her mind, and all she could say was that 'my eyes are so bad today, and I cannot get any medical help whatsoever'. Someone said that they were going to ask Accudoc, (I think this might be your other pen name, but forgive me if I am wrong). I used to post on that site, and actually said that I wanted to raise something about what a person could buy over the counter with you or Tam tam, (but they also would have to ask the pharmacist, or other registered healkthcare professional, such as an optometrist, if the drops or ointment would be suitable, as these would be the professionals who could assess the patient physically before them). I furthermore believe you, in that you have had this syndrome, and have largely overcome it by using your own intelligence and knowledge. I did ask you, on the basis of that, what you thought the recommended treatment regimen should consist of, and what specifically could be asked of a doctor to prescribe for an affected patient. I would not put you in the position of being asked what you would prescribe, only what people could ask their doctor to prescribe. You did answer that question politely enough. I find this latest stark comment, 'none of her business' really quite hurtful and totally unnecessary. I did not ask the question more than once, and made no comment whatsoever when you did not answer, but never in my wildest dreams did I realise that this was your reason. Had I known this, I would never have communicated again with you. However, given that my question was of an impliedly complimentary nature, general in nature and tone, specific to the business of this site, and with a view perhaps to helping others, (and as an ex sufferer, you would know more than I about the hell some are going through), I feel a bit shocked at it. I am unsure if you are the person being advertised in Skytroll's post, viz. the homoeopathic doctor, hoping to set up a research site with other clinicians and interested professionals, so that this condition may be investigated more fully. Something about seeking possible sponsors with 'deep pockets' was mentioned. I myself would not choose to sponsor a cause where the deliberations and mooted hypotheses were not transparent, and particularly not one where apposite and altruistic enquiries are met with unthinking rudeness.
Cilla,
Sorry for the frankness which was not directed at you. I did inform the mod squad here of credentials and was told they were not of importance. I am not as described by the poster "London"... not Accudoc or any other similar screen name on other boards. I do not give treatment advice on the board ... it is dangerous and against the rules (am already at level 1 because of humorous posts.......if they can't take a joke.) Your sincere effort to help people is commendable and your efforts are appreciated by many. So, I am sorry if some of the fallout from my previous post fell upon you. The venom was not aimed just sprayed. I was accused of being a mushroom...a fungus.....The erronious information present or insinuated here is not good for anyone. Doc44
