I suspect that there is another reason for the DP diagnosis Randy. It’s because the doctor has to get paid. If you pay for treatment with insurance, the Doc has to put some kind of diagnostic code on the form to receive payment. There is no code for morgellons because there is no official disease. Catch -22.

I suspect that you are incorrect Frankie boy. Do you actually think that people are going to believe that physicians are going to put their butts and license on the line and risk a lawsuit for malpractice by misdiagnosing a patient for a 30.00 office visit? Cough, cough.

Any physician misdiagnosing any patient for any reason is in very hot water and everyone knows this. Is the brain fog getting to you or what?

This shows ignorance of the medical profession and the law in regard to malpractice. Lond term damage is what malpractice looks for not billing codes. If they do not know what it is they suggest going to another professional so you get can out of their office. They do not have a code for "Not sure..gonna find out" If it is a skin condition the first place they will say is a shrink and put DOP after that recommendation in your file cus most skin problems are because of drugs or nerves.

It is standard practice.

Is seven years considered "long term damage" because if not I surly can go back farther than that.

And one more interesting bit of info…..

Way back on LB someone posted about a billing code. Said that their doc called their insurance company and got one for, get this, MORGELLONS. Something is up with this, inconsistent.

Anyone else remember this?

OMG! I have only ever heard this one time before. I could not drink even if I wanted to because of the same effect. Sometimes the smell alone can make me want to throw up. I have always speculated that I had developed some type of allergy to alcohol or something because it was not always like this. I wonder if this reaction is personal or connected to this condition?

A lot of us are experiencing this.

I can not tolerate alcohol anymore either. Just a couple beers will make me quite ill the next day. It's hard to describe, feels more like a herx than feeling hungover. Maybe our bodies are using the alcohol in a different way now?

They are calling Morgellons DOP. so if they are billing under what they say is Morgellons you are getting billed for DOP. Your insurance can tell you.

Also long term damage is not the number of years you have suffered.


My brohter went to the ER for his foot. They messed up and had to cut out half his heel and he is forever crippled by this neglect.

They almost had to take off his entire foot above the heel.

Now if they would have cut off his foot he would have a case. But as long as he can walk he does not.

And if his job did not require walking, he would have less of a case. He is in the midst of fighting this now.

This is how hard it is. He will walk with a huge limp now for the rest of his life plus they let him slip into a comma, he is diabetic but they say he does not have a case and this is the lawyer that won a case for him where he fell on some loose slate that did the initial damage to his foot.

So how do you think we are going to get anywhere when we don't even have a real discovered disease yet?

You have to come down to reality and know how it all works.

That is why I am trying to get this program up and running cuz then if they don't treat us correctly, then we can do something.

Before I go..the alcohol thing..with most I talk to it si the same 100%. Could be the sugar, yeast..but worth investigating. I get sick at the smell of it. The smell give me a headache.

Grab a ziploc...1st seal it, observe that it is airtight and hold it to light to see that it is clear of small lesions
open it
dump sugar in it
squeeze the excess air out and seal it

If you are on a decent day, it will do nothing
If you are heavy w/symptoms day, you will have small lesions in the bag and it will not be airtight, also you can watch the lesions take place

This whole diagnostic code thing is messed up.

Sure physicians are required to use a code for insurance and other reasons. But we are not being diagnosed with DOP because of lack of a designated diagnostic code. It goes much deeper than that. Any physician can find an applicable code to use per patient. This is what was/is done for many patients including myself.

The DOP misdiagnosis is not being replaced by "Morgellons" as Randy stated. That is just one of many instances where Randy is projecting her perception upon others. That may clear things up for some of you but realisticly it only clouds the issue. Randy had no problems with the 'LABLE' in the past. The problems only arose after disassociation from her for obvious reasons.

Thanks for you your response regarding your physicians teleconferencing with our physicians. I firmly believe that you offer our best hope by providing medical doctors and degreed scientists who understand our disease and are willing to help us.

I am going to suggest that you consider a regularly scheduled teleconference between physicians on a teleconference bridge. If you check with the university that you work for, you may find that they have a conference bridge in their telephone service contract. It is simply a service provided by the phone company that allows anyone in the world to dial into a common number and be bridged together for conference. They are usually billed by the number of connections on a per minute basis.

Quite sadly however the scammers will continue to prey upon the sick and scared people who have been violated by the medical professionals who have automatically assumed that we are delusional. I believe that organized fraud is being committed by some. One very simple solution to this is to file a complaint at the US Attorneys office. For those here who are just stupid, that is not a crime. However racketeering gets you permanent residence status in a penal facility. I have been thinking about meeting with my Congressman to discuss the disease. Perhaps a discussion regarding Tam Tam, and others would be a more productive endeavor. You don’t have to file a complaint claiming that there is a fire, you only have to tell them that you smell smoke. Finding the fire is their job.

Even though I have told everyone here that my only intent is to assist in bringing help to my sick brothers and sisters at no profit to myself, there still seem to be some who question my intent as well as to obstruct your efforts. Perhaps the time has come to step out into the light of day and show them exactly what my intentions are.

I will only be checking in once in a while. I’m using a cell phone to make a ppp connection to a corporate network with an internet gateway, and we are talking stone slow here.

I am battling a patch of rash on my chest that is probably due to lack of rest from working too much and traveling. If I take care of myself, I can usually get them to heal without resulting in lesions.

Another interesting observation. I had a couple of glasses of wine at Christmas and it made me extremely tired.

Regarding Remission... My own observations from having this since the early 80's. There are times when you will have no lesions, months perhaps longer. Sooner or later they come back. I have never quite been able to determine what sets it off. I don't really think it is in remission, just another stage of transformtion. What I can say without a doubt is that overall this is progressive. Over the years, my overall health has deteriorated. In my case I believe that it caused CFS which turned in to Fibromyalgia and arthritis. Not all people are affected in the same mannner.
