Polio Vaccines?

Postby sam2400 » Tue Aug 10, 2010 5:03 am

I am writing an essay on the two polio vaccines OPV and IPV, Oral Polio Vaccine and Inactivated Polio Vaccine respectively. As part of my essay I need to write a section on the type of immune response generated. Basically I need information about which antigens are used to generate immunity in each vaccine. I have scoured the internet but cannot find any papers which link to this. Can anybody help?? Thanks

Both are based on whole virus AFAIK. So I a do not think that there is a single antigen that would be responsible for the response.
