AZT,telomerase and germ cells

Postby Jalish » Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:26 pm

We know that AZT drug (inhibits reverse transcriptase) also halts telomerase activity in the bone marrow stem cells which give rise to red blood cells,as telomerase too has reverse transcriptase activity...How does then AZT affect the telomerase in the germ line cells?does it affect the patient's productivity at all?
