Question about inheritance

Hello, everyone!
I have a question about race and inheritance. Do people inherit their race strictly through their chromosomes? For example, if my father's father's mother is Greek, would I be Greek as well? Or would it be inherited by a brother of mine instead? So, mapped out, it would look something like: XX (paternal g.grandmother Greek) + XY (paternal g.grandfather Irish/ Native American)= XY (grandfather Greek/Irish Native American) + XX (grandmother Irish/English)= XY (father English/Greek/Irish/Native American).

I am really sorry if this is in the wrong category, or not pertinent at all, but I am dying to know.

As you're portraying it, there's no such thing as "race." Each of the populations you list is, on average, a tiny bit different from the others, but an individual doesn't carry such a genome.

You might be carrying the occasional alleles associated with the separate populations (which probably produces no measurable phenotype difference), but that leaves 99.something% just "human."

Ah, sorry, my bad. I couldn't think of how else to term it. So, rather than race, it's just the prevalence of alleles in each generation?
