P.S. here is a list of all the equipment in the labs at my college:(if that is of any help) Fluorescence Microscope Culture transfer room Bacteriological Incubators Fermentor Incubator Shaker Cold-room Membrane filtration unit Centrifuge Autoclaves, pH meters Electronic balances water baths Laminar Flow Hood Electrophoresis units UV-VIS Spectrophotometer Incubator Shaker Refrigerated centrifuge Microfuge Culture handling facilities BOD Incubator Deep freezers UV-Illuminator PCR machine High throughput detector -80c freezer Refrigerated Centrifuge Microfuge Transilluminator Gel electrophoresis system Gel documentation system DNA sequencer UV strata linker Plant tissue culture room CO2 incubator Cyanobacterial culture facility Autosterilizer Radioisotope Hood Remote handling gadgets Gamma counters NaI-Ti Scintillation Counter Liquid Scintillation Counter Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Isotope storage facilities Disposal facilities UV-VIS scanning spectrophotometers IR spectrophotometers Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer NMR spectrophotometer HPLC Ultracentrifuge High speed vaccum concentrator
well, this seems, that you can do whatever you want. But you should probably first contact some person at your school and ask what are they doing and whether you could join

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
ya thats what i think but i dont think they will allow me to do anything much since i have just had 3 full lab courses and most were just titrations and cultures and such. i mean most of this stuff is used by people doing their phd. i wanted to do a project in bio chem related to drug interactions in metabolic pathways. any suggestions? i have to come up with an abstract for the board to review and allow me to do the project.
of course you won't use all that stuff since the beginning. But it's still better to talk first to someone, who could be your advisor and s/he will suggest some topics related to his/her research
